Palin Exaggerations (to call them lies would be silly...she is only repeating what she has crammed for in the last week...I mean jeez golly, she has only been a candidate for 5 weeks! And for this and the above Biden lies...can you lie about something that hasn't happened yet?? How would you know until the truth came out? )
1. OBAMA REPEATEDLY VOTED AGAINST TROOP FUNDING- The claim refers to a single 2007 vote against a war funding bill. Obama voted for a version of the bill that included language calling for withdrawing troops from Iraq. President Bush vetoed it. (McCain supported that veto, but didn’t call it “vetoing support for our troops.â€

Interesting video Phil, not that it will make a difference, people could care less about facts. Her accent and body language was certainly different in that debate than in last nights debate. What exactly is the point in changing that? Is it supposed to attract more voters? Being folksy is supposed to make you more qualified to be VP?

Heck, it worked in 2000 for prez! Bush ran on the anti-intellectual plank with folksy charm and taking time out to clear brush like an American. Bush ran on the outsider, down home, dude ranch living good ol' boy platform and won. Granted, 8 years later the same party that has been in power for 8 years in the WH and 6 of 8 years in Congress is trying to again run on the "outsider" status. Doesn't ring quite a true this time but they know what works so why not?

Interestingly, her claim about divesting from Darfur? Not so much her as the Democrats in their legislature.
I'd actually not mind her quite so much if she and her running mate didn't habitually lie about every. single. issue. It's like McCain never even heard of Google.
Oh, wait, maybe he hasn't.

Oh, Jennifer, I realize that all politicians lie, and that Biden certainly had some whoppers in his remarks as well.
But the ease with which these two lie about things which are so easily researched and refuted says to me that they either don't think the people are able to find out the truth or they don't care whether they do or not. It seems that every single talking point they've come out with has been puffed up or made up out of whole cloth. Either she has a record to run on or she doesn't. Either she's a reformer or she isn't.
In that context, and especially given her remarks about the role of the vice-president, her authoritarian management style, and her stonewalling subpoenas in Alaska, I just can't help but recognize the worst of the current administration in her. I wish it wasn't so. I wish I could believe she was entirely for real, because she's an intriguing political figure.

You realize, don't you, that both Obama and McCain favor cap-and-trade systems that would have the side-effect of making cleaner coal technologies more economically attractive? Non-issue. Move along.
But McCain does not want to Bankrupt the coal companies
