Once again Billo only tells half of the story......http://taxvox.taxpolicycenter.org/blog/_archives/2008/10/16/3933404.html

We can post URL's to the "n"th degree and what I'm seeing that Both McCain and Obama will cost us TRILLIONS in new spending.

I'm not a big fan of John McCain.

I designed our company's 401(k) to specifically prohibit withdrawals for any reason but termination of employment.

There are plans to eliminate the 401(k) and replace the it with a mandated loan to the government. The government would force you to loan 5% of your salary to the government. The government would "invest" the money in government bonds (i.e. spend it). At some later date (when you retire) the government would raise taxes or increase borrowing to pay you your money back. Does that sound like a retirement plan or theft?

It is a classic Peronist redistribution plan. The destruction of the Argentinian economy is a class room example of economic policies based on "Share The Wealth". Whose wealth and who determines the share?

Barack Obama is a Peronist, be afraid, be very afraid!

The current market turmoil is the Barack Obama market. Investors fear a redistributionist mentality.

Barack Obama is a redistributionist, be afraid, be very afraid!

Barack Obama is a redistributionist

But Bill, to be fair, any form of tax represents redistribution, does it not? When the poorist of the poor buys a light bulb, we're adding a percentage of the cost as sales tax...taking his money for nothing and giving it to the government to allocate. So, in reality, ANYONE who favors any kind of tax is a redistributionist.....some just want to take it from the top tier and spread it to the bottom and some would rather take it from the bottom and ease the pain of the top tier.....

Not altogether true. Spending on such things as defense, salaries and the like is not redistribution (value received for services rendered – insert joke about value received here  ). The never ending and always increasing entitlements is redistribution.

A tax hike on the ‘rich’ coupled with tax credits is wealth redistribution. That’s the fallacy of Obama’s plan. It’s not a tax cut, it’s a tax credit. Tax credits are available to anyone, even those 47 million people (by some estimates) who pay no tax at all. You don’t have to have a job, all you have to do is breathe. You get the credit paid to you when you file your tax return, once a year.

McCain is calling for tax cuts. A tax cut is a reduction of taxes deducted from your paycheck each and every pay period. The catch here is you actually have to pay taxes to get a tax cut.

taxes

Post by ryan costa »

Progressive taxes have been raised in times of War. When the War on Terror, War on Crime, War on Drugs, etc., are over....a candidate can legitimately run on a campaign of lowering taxes. Today a candidate cannot legitimately run on a campaign of lowering progressive income taxes.(even though they are already pretty low).

We should also remember that it was the Democrats who first introduced progressive income taxes. They did this to justify their desire to reduce and eliminate tariffs. This was about 100 years ago. Republicans were for tariffs, Democrats were for income taxes.

Today there are no Republicans. There are just big banks that lend money to Mexico and the third world, lose it, then lobby for cobbled together tactics of the Feds loaning them more money in exchange for reduction in trade barriers.

McCain campaigns with neocon slogans. he tells people in the bottom tax brackets Obama will raise their taxes. And he also promises more free trade deals.

Perhaps the neocons would be less enthusiastic for getting us into wars if they understood it required progressive income taxes.

40 percent of senior citizens rely on social security as their sole source of income. He does not seem to be campaigning on a platform of Euthanasia for the these 40 percent of elderly.
