Here is some leadership...

Post by Phil Florian »

I saw Sarah Vowell on The Daily Show this week (love her stuff...good books and even just as fun when she reads like...like a female David Sedaris). She said that since our current politicians lack even the basics of leadership skills she turned to one of the great presidents who dealt with a similar crisis and went back to read some of FDR's chats with the American people. Here is his Fireside Chat from March 12, 1933 in response to another banking crisis we may remember:

"Let us unite in banishing fear...It is your problem no less than it is mine. Together we cannot fail."

This was some good stuff.
"Possible explanations for why other people might not share our views:
They haven't been told the truth.
They are too lazy or stupid to reach correct...conclusions, or
They are biased by their self-interest, dogma, or ideology."

Here's one of Jon Stewart highlighting the Tuesday debate. It's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time - and here's to a happy weekend for all -

That was an amazing speech. I think that is the kind of leadership the American people are looking for and deserve.

Sharon I read this great speech by President Roosevelt and then I watch a hilarious clip. I felt guilty for laughing but it was funny.
