We have giving these tax breaks to Big Oil for many years and what have we got in return for it. Nothing. Pointless wars, bigger dependence on "terror" oil , and stifled innovation.

The oil companies have failed us. It is time to stop rewarding them for that and give the tax breaks to new more forward thinking companies. In hopes that they can once again spark the kind of innovation america was know for during the tech boom.

The reason oil companies do not drill on all of the land they lease is because not all the land they lease contains any recoverable oil.
