Oh I don't trust Bush to handle this correctly either.

I don't want our troops to get on a plane that gets bombed. There has to be a cohesive way to do this for the safety of everyone involved.

Planning Ryan, that's something that hasn't been done with any of this war.

Although all the "major" corporate candidates suck, this hit piece is just a propaganda Op-Ed with a truly "unbiased" source:

The real problem is the regurgitation of bad info over and over again to drive a wedge between people of varying ideologies. After all if a lie is repeated enough it becomes the truth....right?

This is old news. It was reported in June as well. Obama did ask if the Status of Forces agreement (SOFA) would bind the new administration, whether it be his or McCain's. He received reassurance that the new administration would be free to renegotiate, and dropped the issue. Furthermore, he did express the opinion that Congress should be involved, not just the two executive entities.

Also, there's something about the spin of that article that bugs me. A SoFA simply sets the terms of continued military presence in a host country. No SoFA, no legal presence (our operations there have been governed by a UN mandate that expires at the end of this year). If the USA were to unilaterally decide to draw down presence in Iraq, that wouldn't require a signed agreement with the Iraqi government.

Obama suggested that the UN be asked to extend the mandate to allow time for a new administration to negotiate its own agreement.

As it turns out, there still remains no SoFA, yet we've begun drawing down troops.

So the strictly political war that never needed to be fought, but allowed GWB to be a "war time president" is still being fought for strictly political reasons.

Yes but everyone asked that IF you(GWB) went in you went in with enough troops anyway.
