Read this and tremble

Excerpt:
This is one of the many points at which narcissism becomes indistinguishable from masochism. Let me put it plainly: If you want someone just like you to be president of the United States, or even vice president, you deserve whatever dysfunctional society you get. You deserve to be poor, to see the environment despoiled, to watch your children receive a fourth-rate education and to suffer as this country wages -- and loses -- both necessary and unnecessary wars.

McCain has so little respect for the presidency of the United States that he is willing to put the girl next door (soon, too, to be a grandma) into office beside him. He has so little respect for the average American voter that he thinks this reckless and cynical ploy will work.

And it might

One of the things that will defeat Barak Obama are acolytes who let reason be consumed by hate. See this nice analysis:

wow, talk about full of hate...

from Bill's article:
liberal journalists turned her family into an object of sexual disgust: inbred rednecks who had stumbled out of Deliverance

I must have missed those columns... just one of many over the top statements

the argument that Palin's a reckless choice can be reasonably made... it can also be reasonably countered - no need to hide behind claims of "you're picking on me"

There are few more comical than right wingers accusing others of hate....yet more GOP hypocrisy.

As for Bill Call, I have read his posts over the years, and find any charges of "hate" from him to be quite ironic.

It is interesting that you point this out. Do people who have received the Purple Heart feel that way? Or was only John Kerry meant to feel the funny on that?

I bring this up because I have to wonder if the dig at Obama...basically about "community organizers" or, as put another way, people doing things in their communities to help their communities...was perceived by folks other than Obama to be a dig? Meaning, in attempting to insult one person did Pallin inadvertantly insult many...in particular all the folks holding up the "Service!" signs the night before at the Convention? Or does "service" only include...what? Government service and military service? Not crunchy "angry left" social work? :D

Just a thought. Granted, the Republicans never really wanted to bring into the fold anyone who would be into social and community service but since I would guess some of their hopeful swing votes might fall into that category, I wonder if they have gone a bit too far. Likely not but still food for thought.
