Federal expenditures include payments ultimately received by individuals and businesses. These may be salaries received by federal workers, payments for goods and services provided by businesses, social security and medicare benefit checks sent retired persons, grants received by state and local governments, research grants received by colleges and universities, and so forth.

Alaska is enjoying a romantic period of cheap abundance, low population density, great government intervention, and the benefits of being integrated into the United States of America in this time and place in history. It is the perfect breeding ground for libertarian-leading republicans. Eventually the consequences of modern prosperity will catch up with it, and it will be as screwed up southern california. All the white collar folks in colorado who had fled california and NYC and D.C.metropolitan area will reap what they sew and ruin colorado. then they will move to alaska.
