I am keeping my fingers crossed that everyone has learned from Katrina and hopefully there will be no need for any finger pointing.

Is any one else watching this coverage thinking "too little to late?" Where were you three years ago? Bush watching from a command center in Austin? The repubs turning their convention into a fundraiser? How about both parties spend half of what they are spending on these conventions and get those 70K people still in trailers in Mississippi into new homes?

What a joke. I really hope this time it is much ado about nothing and they don't need the govt to mobilize. We still aren't ready.

It is nice to see that things seem to be going well with hurricane Gustav. Thank goodness it doesn't seem that this was the major catastrophe Katrina was on so many levels.
