My guess is Romney.

The report is that the VP will be present in Dayton, Ohio on Friday when the announcement is made.

I'll put my money on the traitor:

Lieberman

and hedge my bet with:

Cantor

They both wiped their collective behinds with the 4th amendment along with McCain and Obama. One of those two will end up finishing McCain's term anyway if the empty suit loses to the demented songbird. Both would gladly start a war with Iran to protect their puppeteers and that's what the money wants.

Colin Powell would be a good choice (but not likely)

I think Steve is right. I think it will be Lieberman

My second guess is the Gov. of Minn.

Palin, governor of Alaska.

She has more political and managerial experience than Obama.
She has challenged the political establishment in Alaska on spending and corruption.
She is (to paraphrase Joe Biden) clean and shiny and new.
She is a she.

If he's picking Palin because she's a strong leader in a territory that is more like it's own country than a state, then great, but if he's just picking Palin to try and get the female vote, then I'm discouraged.

Can't wait for the Democrats to pick up on the fact that as Alaska governor, Palin will have had a long working relationship with the KGB.

of course in Alaska that abbreviation has a little different meaning. (Ketchikan Gateway Burrough) :D

1.5 years in elective office, as governor of a state that is not looking deep in corruption, at least on the Republican side, and I have no doubt oil money flows deep in many politicians pockets.

Joe Liberman, then we can watch all of the "Rs" once again go back on everything they have said they stood for to justify it.

FWIW

Certainly tight with energy companies, from MSNBC.com

On Aug. 1, Palin scored a major victory when the Alaska legislature passed a bill that authorizes her administration to award a license to TransCanada Alaska to build a 1,715-mile natural gas pipeline from Prudhoe Bay on Alaska’s North Slope to a hub in Canada.

On the other hand, I thought one of the most important jobs for a Vice President was to be ready should anything happen to the President. Has less experience in everything than Obama.

Where Joe could step right in, could Palin?
