Obama is not going to get the votes of people who for any reason

loathe him
loathe liberal policies
hate blacks
would never vote for a democrat

It's not worth any of his time or resources to deploy them to convince such persons to vote for him.

So, imo, the hillary deadenders who want to cast a vindictive vote against Obama even though their sainted Hillary supports Obama, should get to paddle with the Bush III current.

Meanwhile Obama needs to make the obvious case that McCain is McSame, enjoin millions of new voters to vote, and try to get the independents and undecideds to break 3-2 for him.

But if McCain should win, all I know is that I survived the criminal administrations of Reagan and Bush II, and I can survive a King McCain if necessary.

I don't think the question is if the American people will survive another horrible dictator in chief, I think it's if McCain can make it through the first four years without croaking.

The guy is old enough to be my grandfather. That's scary.

I can see it now....

McCain making all the important decisions from the newly developed "Air Force dONE" vehicle...equipped with a button to launch our nukes, and the newly designed George W. Bush logo hubcaps.

Just imagine what would happen if he soiled his depends while sitting in the chair and accidentally pushing the button to launch our nukes while grabbing the handles really tight.

It would look something like this....

Hah, but JOB isn't running for president in the free world.

I don't hate McCain, he's the "maverick" how could you hate him? Look past the Keating Five and the fact that he doesn't know how many houses he owns...and you've got yourself a lunatic old guy that thinks everyone is his friend. If everyone liked him and wanted him to be president, he would be the biggest "celebrity" in the world...

To get back on topic that commercial was both laughable and annoying. I can't believe that anyone would actually think that would get dems to vote for McCain, but I'm not an expert on advertising.

It's interesting that age was not considered a barrier for a photographer for the Lakewood Observer. The photographer in question was judged by his talent and his contributions.

But it's evidently perfectly fine to put the old folks out on the ever-shrinking ice floes because old==useless.

Since I am also old, I am sensitive to such discussion. I'm happy that Ivor is secure in his overwhelming certainty about everything.

I am old enough to remember when it seemed that anyone spreading a message of hope was assassinated and that is still a worry in my mind. Will Obama make it through his first four years?

I am old enough to remember the fervor and hope that George McGovern inspired within a generation of youth and how well that worked out.

Plus, running a newspaper, taking photos, or running a forum have different qualifications than President of the United States. At least I'd hope so....

John McLame doesn't fit into my category of what I want a candidate to be. In my perfect world, I'd like my candidate to be healthy and young enough to understand the future generation but also in tune to what needs to be done now. I'd like to vote for someone who in four or eight year isn't living his last days (counting in the cancer and other stuff).

So it's not a matter of "oh, he's too 'old'"...it's a combination of his health history and his age that concern me. The amount of stress he has been put through in his lifetime worry me because stress can take a lot of years off of your life.

Plus, the Life expectancy in the US is 77.9 years.

I'm fine with McCain not being the candidate you want. I don't recognize this new John McCain whose politics have suddenly and drastically changed.

Remember that a young President never made it out of Dallas alive, so youth is no guarantee of longevity.
