I just saw this post and thought it would be worth mentioning another similar event right here in the Rocky River Reservation. The Cedar Valley Settlers Celebration & Music Festival will take place Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Rocky River Nature Center and the Frostville Museum. It's really a nice event for the family - last year was the first I had heard of it and I was pleasantly surprised. The kids had a chance to make yarn dolls, dip candles (and then carve their own candle holder), etc., and got a chance to generally see how things were done in the pioneer days (how to weave chairs, make various foods - and taste them! - how to make rugs. There are musicians sprinkled throughout the paths around the nature center and on the main stage at the Frostville Museum, plus story tellers and other various entertainment. It's a beautiful setting - sort of like a smaller Yankee Peddler without all the craft booths - and it's completely free! Here's a link if you'd like more info.: http://www.clemetparks.com/events/cedar%20valley.asp
