a year or two ago I predicted the race for president would come down to whichever candidate most successfully blamed the other candidate for the rising price of fuel. Most of the campaign commercials show this is what the candidates are trying to do.
The McCain Campaign also has commercials accusing Obama of having been on more Magazine Covers than John McCain. Numbers of different magazines and total circulation are not mentioned for either candidate. McCain has probably been in more news headlines during his 26 years in the House of Representatives and Senate and his front runner status for the Republican Nomination for President in 2000 and 2004 and 2008.
So far neither candidate has the forthrightness to suggest fuel is such a problem because we use too much of it. That the big stores are too far away from most customers, that the big schools are too far away from most students and teachers, that the new post offices are too far away from most posters, that the courts and police stations and city government offices are too far away from most residents. Or that we import too much cargo, or that the new giant factories require shipping most cargo much further.
