You are assuming that legal niceties have any meaning.
In the New America they do not. Think of Obama's America as you would Hugo Chavez Venezuela.

Even if that were true - it couldn't be worse than what we have now.
When was the last time either one of you shopped, on your own, no list from anyone, at the grocery store?
Give it a try guys.
Shudder to think what would happen if the Republicans stayed in power.

Well then Mr. Liberated Man, why aren't you having sticker shot from the rise in food prices, gas prices, clothing prices, utility prices etc., etc.
But the most telling is always grocery prices.

well gosh sharon, how are we as men supposed to keep our women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen darning our socks if we don't do the grocery shopping?
Maybe the reason that we're not a victim of sticker shock is because at our weekly seal clubbing/clan rally, we discuss the state of the economy which, as you know, we atificially control so as to keep women and minorities in poverty, and therefore, saw this rise in prices waaaaaaaay in advance.
We certainly didn't get the information from waterboarding that boyscout troop in Guantanamo Bay, but what the heck, they had it coming after all those long distance calls to the vatican we were listening in on.
Or maybe we're willing to pay the extra 50 cents for a box of coca puffs because of all that awesome corn ethanol we've been filling up our gas tank with - 'cause gee wiz, isn't the environment worth it.

Well gee golly Bret, how often do you and your buddies talk about the price of groceries, how much laundry detergent is?
How often do you pawn it off on the woman in the relationship?
You're talking to an old time feminist who knows the difference between how it really it and how it "should" be.
How many guys do you know that talk about babysitting their own children?
Don't even try it with me. You ain't been around long enough, either you or Stephen.
Corn prices are down BECAUSE IT'S AUGUST.
The reality, for too many people, is that there is too much month left at then end of the paycheck.
Have you two noticed the financial diffulties of our city? I don't know what planet you two are living on but talk to any food pantry and find out about demand in relationship to supply.
And frankly Bret I don't care what you think. Creep in, creep out.

Sharon,
That is about the most ignorant post I think I've ever read.
Frankly, in the world I live in, it's people like you that are the real problem.
You have no idea what its like outside your own little life bubble. And worse, you seem to have no desire to find out. Because maybe you won't like what you find, or maybe your not secure enough in your own convictions to be able to handle true debate, or perhaps its just pure hatred and stubborness.
I'm not poor now, but there was a time in my life when government cheese and powdered milk were the staple of my diet. So if you'd like to discuss poverty, why don't you stop by this winter as I'll once again be sleeping out on the street to raise money and awareness to the plight of the homeless.
My father once told me that he never wanted to have kids, my mother never saw a single support check, and I only found out about his death by a wierd coincidence. So how dare you assume that I'm not the best damn father in this city. But if you'd like to discuss parenting, why don't you stop by the Pokemon pre-release tournament on August 24th. I'll be there with my son, playing along side.
And for your information, I don't personally know any other fathers that shirk their responsibilities. But not because I don't know any other fathers, but because when I see a friend not facing the music, I confront him, just as I would expect him to confront me. I talk with him, and listen to him, and together we find a better way to take care of our families. So if you'd like to talk about moral fortitude, why don't you come over to my church (Pilgrim Saint Paul), I'm there quite often, between helping with the praise team, teaching sunday school and volunteering for other projects as needed.
You can take your "Old time feminism" and shove it right up your... on second thought, don't bother, it might not fit until you take your head out first.
Not only do I shop for groceries, but I cook, I bake, I do dishes, the laundry, and clean my fair share of the house, every morning I wake up early to get my son packed and ready for school, and every night I try to make time to read or play a game with him. My wife and I are a team, because we figured out long ago that sticking to any pre-concieved notion of parental roles didn't take advantages of our strengths and certainly didn't cover enough of our own weaknesses.
You just go right ahead assuming that anyone that doesn't believe your line of crap is uneducated or uncaring. Your conceit, divissive attitide and ego will never solve a single problem you claim to care about. But while you're doing that, don't worry your little empty head. The rest of us will be out here continuing to find ways to solve the issues that leave people hungry, bridging the gaps in education, filling the void in healthcare, and fighting to be good neighbors and kind friends.
Nice try, but I don't creep. I'm right here, putting my name on my thoughts and defending my arguments.
If you ever really want to debate this or any other topic, you name the place and time, and I'll be there.

First of all Bret - I'll send you a PM to set up a meet.
Second - You are very hostile.
What you think I'm middle class? You think I don't know about the world?
You're funny.
Prepare for a big surprise young man.
You think that's a bunch of crap? After we have our little talk I'll take you for a ride, a tour if you will, of real-life outside the burb. Actually we have it here, you just don't know about it.

You're such a saint - I'm inspired.
Says the mom of three kids who once lived in the projects.
Mine are grown and on their way, I did it myself.
I don't do Pokemon. I lived the Atari on up. More than enough for this old woman.
I want to make the world a better place for your kid in addition to my own. The new reality is going to be unpleasant if we don't do something now.
Don't assume, you know what they say.

Not for nothing, Sharon, but I cannot blame him for being hostile. You have seemed very condescending and patronizing in this thread. You're complaining about HIM assuming things about you when you basically did the same thing here. I don't see where you are getting this moral high road here and the "I was poorer than you" argument is just... well, kinda ridiculous.
