It's a fascinating little power point presentation.

Nice that the soundtrack was from "Braveheart" cause what I was reading sure made me feel somewhat barbaric.....

that is very interesting

That is very interesting.

Someone at Mahalls had an interesting anecdote about the last recession in southeast Ohio: a lot of the small game had been nearly wiped out. (squirrels, raccoons, woodchucks?). Wiped out by hungry people. Technically, a rifle and a few boxes of ammunition represent greater technology and economic output than a roast duck or lamb or 200 pound sack of potatoes.

With a laptop things are different. You can get a credit card with fake information, go online, and order a pizza. If you are smart you can order it delivered to an abandoned or foreclosed home, then sneak away with it. The pizza franchise corporation would have to hire a contractor to build software that keeps track of foreclosed properties and connects it to the online pizza ordering server. That could be one of the technologies that hasn't been invented yet.

Here is an interesting book: It is called Turbo-Capitalism. It isn't radical at all. It may even be conservative. I'm not sure if it is conservative or radical. It is good analysis though.

I meant to do it on another forum. Sorry.

it keeps going

Post by ryan costa »

it keeps going. There are sizeable markets in America where pizza places no longer make deliveries. Because the delivery men are robbed. But then the pizza places get hit with class action law suits for "discrimination" and stuff.

In the future maybe Robots will deliver the pizzas. There will be a law against pizza places not delivering pizza. So they will have to lease Robots to deliver the pizza. the Robots would be controlled by a virtual reality interface to some teenager in China wearing virtual reality gear to control the robot. It will take a robust internet connection. The Robots will have to be bulletproof and have unbreakable titanium bones. They will also have to be capable of delivering Karate Chops and Knuckle Sandwiches. So only the top pizza chains will be able to finance the leasing of pizza delivery robots, and refusing to deliver pizzas will be against the law for pizza places.

Interesting DL. Some of those little factoids are a bit depressing.

China is coming on strong. We haven't seen anything yet.

Guess what they were doing in China last night while America watched American Idol...

Warning: the above video as some foul language in it and it's about 16 minutes long.

Joseph Goebbels would be proud of that film.

So strong that they had a 24% drop in manufacturing jobs between 1995 - 2002?
