Another genius solution to the economic crisis!
Just saw what I could stand to watch, a segment of a press conference GWB held this afternoon.
As if he has done enough with the big ol $800.00 tax break, he's calling on corporations and non-profits to educate the citizenry on their financial future - Yep - that should do it.
Brilliant!

Hey, this makes everyone happy! Republicans get the money they earned back like they always complain about and Democrats get to hand money out! No wonder it only took a week or so for them to agree on it.
So when I get my check, am I a "welfare" recipient? Just for that month?
That said, we still have unchecked rising health care costs, rising energy costs, flattened wage increases and more and more industry leaving our shores. I think they just want to prevent a revolt at election time and buy everyone off.

If W and crew want to give me $600.00 back, I will take it. It is a drop in the bucket when placed against what they have blown on Iraq. I will take the money and not spend it. Everyone should hold on to it as long as possible. They may give us more if the checks don't fix the problem.
Look on the bright side, in London that $600.00 is worth $300.00.

While the exchange rate may be down the tubes. I plan to spend the money gambling in Canada.

You could employ the unemployed, boost a lot of different businesses and make America a better place. Like our aging infrastructure, perhaps???
So buying a new tv is out?
