Replacement storm windows for picture windows

Post by Sharon O'Donnell »

We have the original large picture windows in the front of our house. Since we got ice on the inside last winter we were forced to accept that, though they look nice, they are basically a couple of big holes in the front of the house. I see houses with wooden storms over these kinds of windows as I go around town. Where do you get them?

Sharon-- Wooden framed storm windows are usually original with the house, that is 70 to 80 years in a Lakewood house.

They are minimally effective especially as compared to today's window and glass technology.

Unless you want to spend a lot of money on a new thermally efficient picture window I might suggest a seasonal, temporary interior plastic window storm kit.

Sharon Please call me at work 226-8822 I have a very good window restoration contractor who can make you a replacement Ohio storm window. We have one on our Front picture window and an added benefit is sound dampening.
