Fixing Leaded Glass Windows

I have leaded glass windows in my foyer. Several years ago the glass began to separate in one of the windows so I had someone reset the glass. Now, the same problem has arisen in the same window. Does anyone know someone who can set leaded glass properly? If so, a reference would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would love to tell you that they do, but I have no idea. I know of a Lakewood resident that has a window repair business however I have no idea if leaded/stained is something he does. I can find out and if so I will post again.

I was only able to get a hold of Whitney Stained Glass Studios. I left a message for the other two. Still waiting to hear back from them.

Whitney Stained Glass Studios is having me take several photos and send them in via email. I guess this is a busy time of the year. Whitney Stained Glass Studios was very pleasant over the telephone. I'll let you know what the quotes are when they come in.

The window is now under repair. While I have major sticker shock, Rainey Du PUIS Studios was the most responsive and very customer friendly.

I have a neighbor that does Stained Glass work and repair. One of her windows just went for over $500 at the Jr. Women's auction last weekend. She has done repair work for the Olmstead Historical Society. If you would like me to forward you her name I will be glad to. Just let me know.

I took a pic of my window, but I have yet to get an estimate.

Everything was falling apart because the glass was too tight in the sash was leaving no room for expansion.

Dupuis went about rerouting the sash 1/8 inches on all sides, as well as stripping, primming and finishing the exterior. She also switched bevel side from exterior to interior. Stronger led was used and saddle bars were added.

It was a complete start over. The window looks wonderful ... at a cost of $562.
