I tried watching Saturday Night Football last night. It was very frustrating.
They open the show with all this CGI clutter and industrial music. then they showcase three different young people singing innocuous yet attitude-laden fluff about something or other. The first was some white guy with waxed up hair. the second was a dark chick. The third was a black guy rapping about something or other. They had to keep switching the camera angles and throw in more CGI and junk. More of the same followed just rolling out the basic stats.
It is all too much.
All they need is an overhead shot of the marching band. A few minutes with the color commentators, and then to focus on the game. They don't need to cut to female side-line reporters asking the coaches and players stuff during the game. They don't need to introduce every tid-bit of statistics with a new CGI power-animation and heavy music intro.
In conclusion, I refuse to watch televised football again.
It is hard to watch tv

While I don't watch sports, I do watch some cable network shows, some cable network shows like Top Chef, some shows on the Food Network, HGTV and some Bravo.
I find myself watching less and less TV. The continuous expansion of commercial time irritates me. The lack of variety on most other channels is sad.
I'm thinking of cancelling cable and getting the $8.00 local station option.
The other thing I will probably stop doing soon is going to the movies, since they've introduced numerous commercials to movies that we pay ridiculous amounts of money to see, I think I'm going to stick with borrowing videos from the library or renting one every once in a while.
