I agree.. Iran is next but Iran may come with China and Russia. Break out the toys from Area 51... this is going to be a big war.Mark Crnolatas wrote:Iran is our next theater of conflict, regardless of who is President. Obama stated he would invade Pakistan if elected.
I'll go into depth on why I've been following Iran even before 9/11, since I was in the mideast long before 9/11, when I have more time.
Doing the domestic thing right now.![]()

At this point it will be apparent to the rest of the world the United States is completely nuts. We'd end up facing severe sanctions from a united European Union, Russia, and possibly even China.
If Iran really is behind so much of the Iraq insurgency(which is probably mostly propoganda), the odds are there will be a huge influx of militant Pakistani and Afghani tribesman into Iran to counter any "regime change" we attempt there. They'd flock to Iran like American Frontier hicks flocked to Texas when it was still Mexican territory.
So...any turnover we attempt in Iran won't work out as well as it does in the video games. We'll get to show off some of our cool weapons and training, but Iran will be turned into a giant quagmire. At least Iraq is mostly flat and barren. Iran has mountains. We've done poorly in every regime change we've tried in mountainous or forested areas for the last 50 years.
That's trouble and time and money and lives we could have expended developing West African oil and gas supplies around Nigeria.
