My fellow Americans, we have a problem. We spend billions of dollars on homeland security, but our government can't even track and deport convicted criminal aliens. These are not the well-meaning "newcomers" who just want to "pursue economic opportunities" by "doing the jobs no one else will do." These are foreign-born thugs, sex offenders, murderers and repeat drunk drivers who are destroying the American Dream.

If our immigration and entrance system cannot effectively monitor, detain and kick out convicted criminal aliens â€â€

One problem I have with Malkin is her thinking the detention of Japanese civilians in WWII was A-Ok, but that's neither here nor there...

A fascinating NBER Working Paper (earlier, free version here) by Kristin Butcher and Anne Piehl shows that, despite their demographics, immigrants are drastically less criminal than native-born Americans. In fact, immigrants have one-fifth the incarceration rate of natives. Yes, natives are incarcerated at five times the rate of the foreign-born:

Full disclosure: I'm from Canada, though I can't explain fighting in the NHL.

Our government is incapable of issuing passports in a timely and efficient manner and that's not rocket science. What do you expect? Do you think they are capable of tracking down illegal aliens that are also criminals AND deporting them? And, just for the record, NOT ALL ILLEGALS ARE CRIMINALS. I guess I am put off by the name of the website.

Thanks,
Mary

cultural exchange

central americans move to California. The kids grow up and get indoctrinated into the violent gang culture there. Then they move back to central American and start violent gang franchises there.

What we need...are trading cards for gang bangers, and a set of Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh rules for points and moves. It could make a lot of money.
