Bus Stop on Clifton and Detroit

Did anyone see the bus stop on the corner of Clifton and Cook last night?
It had profanity painted all over it. Wonder how long it will take for RTA to get that cleaned up?

According the RTA they have crews specifically for removing graffiti and cleaning them up. They make it a priority whenever there are vulgar words. I guess it should be cleaned up by tomorrow.

If I were running for mayor I would make a list of all of these suggestions than ask the people what they want to spend the hundreds of left over dollars on.

Backyard garbage removal, or graffiti teams.

The City has at least 150 more employees than it did 20 years. What is it that they actually do?

More and more people accomplishing less and less. The residents of Lakewood pay some of the highest taxes in the country and yet we are asked to form citizen committees to do the jobs the City should be doing.

At every level private industry and individual entrepreneurs are producing more with less. Here in Lakewood the City has figured out a way to produce less with more.

When I walk through city hall I really do not see many people sitting around and doing nothing.

Do you have facts that support the claim that all departments are fat, lazy, overpaid, and not doing their jobs?

I am just pointing out that over the last 25 years or so the City has lost about 25% of its population and increased the number of City employees by about 25% and yet the excuse for things not getting done is: "We don't have enough people".

If you had a business that lost 25% of its customers as it increased its workforce by 25% as customer satisfaction decreased wouldn't you be just a little bit curious as to what was going on?

Why is it that with some of the highest taxes in the country we are reduced to various volunteer citizens committees to clean a park, fix playground equipment, eliminate graffiti or pick up trash, etc?

We both know there could be hundreds of reasons for this. Which takes more from city services. A family of three with mom and dad in their 30s, or two 70 year olds?

How many people using the parks and city services come in from out fo town as their pools are not opened, hoops missing, etc.

Last year I walked through Lakewood Park on the 4th, and it took almost 15 minutes to find anyone from Lakewood. Could this be part of it?

Is technology the problem or the cure?

Blanket statements from both of us, border on worthless.

I've been close to the auto manufacturing industry since the early 80's. I've been to all kinds of companies in the US and Mexico. It never ceases to amaze how hard people in manufacturing work and how hard they (management and hourly, union and nonunion) work at doing more with less and working smarter not necessarily harder. Go into any of those plants, the ones with good teams trying to survive, and you will see and feel the urgency to succeed. Not sit back and take it easy. They have to in order to survive. I see it nowhere else.

I always like to see what Mr. Call has to say.

For the record you would be my bean counter if I was mayor.
