I'd have to say we are extremely lucky not to have the same baggage --with Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, and Philipinos, the stakes are not currently as high.

Of course we're working on parity with England (and Europe) just as fast as we can. As Native Americans learned during manifest destiny, you can never go back-- so choose carefully, if you have the option.
