Beer Engine - Big Thumbs Up

Post by Suzanne Metelko »

Not to preempt Chef Geoff but I had dinner at the Beer Engine tonight. Really great!

The owners are eager to be a part of the neighborhood (new sign) and Brian (Lakewood Beverage) is cooking. They have three pages of burgers and NO TRANS FATS!

Open for lunch too! Mark, Jason, Brian, thanks for a great dining experience. We'll be back.....really soon.

Mike and I walked over there the other night (it's so nice they are so close) and we were really impressed. Mike said the burger was the best he has had in a long time, I had a bite it was quite flavorful. I loved the deep-fried pickle and the shoe string fries were perfect. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great, and I am just thrilled to have them as neighbors. With that in mind I was a bit worried abut having another "bar" so close but I haven't heard anyone disruptive late at night, that is a big plus for me.

Anything healthy on the menu? You know, lighter fare ... salads, soups, low-cal stuff?

(though I'm all for the no trans fats ... I hope more restaurants adopt that as well)

Do they have any vegetarian friendly items on the menu? My husband is a huge beer snob and will want to try this place out for sure!
