So....we're limited to five? Now I'm getting upset trying to pare down the list, and hoping that I don't offend anyone.....Isn't that counterproductive?

1) Quiet evening, fire in the fireplace, good bottle of wine and favorite dinner that I prepared for my wife/friend/partner.

2) A good cigar, a great bourbon, and a gathering of the guys for a football game.

3) Having any one of the kids show that they understand and appreciate all they have.

4) Guinness always waiting at the door and always exceedingly happy that I got home safely.

5) Having a client, after a long emotional domestic situation, thank me for getting her/him through the ordeal.

Ok, I'll try.

1) Being with my family, and talking to my 2 older kids on the phone (wish I could see more of them).
2) A day of great weather, sunny, warm.
3) Having a good day without having to stress about something.
4) Doing something that I really don't have to. ( Something that's fun).
5) Helping someone else feel better about something, showing options to whatever.

How about having something stressful happen and NOT stressing out!

Since I have been thinking of these things and all of yours (most of which I say cheers to) I swear I have been smiling more and walking lighter. And I needed that! I even enjoyed cleaning today!

The biggest one today-first day of spring!

-Now is not only a good time to awaken Mother Earth, but also to awaken ourselves. We should ask: Are we only going through the motions now? Or are we reawakening our spiritual selves, and seeing anew all the magical possibilities of spring? To awaken your own body, mind, and soul to spring’s rebirth, give back to Mother Earth some of the things we’ve taken from her. Plant a tree, herb garden, or flowers. Feed her animals and birds...-

Hi. First time post, long time lurker...

Thought I'd play. Not necessarily in order:

1. Being at home with my wife, kids, and dogs
2. Trees & the outdoors (I count that as one)
3. Building furniture (hand cutting dovetails - hand plaining cherry)
4. Anything Bob Dylan (most people don't understand that one. It's an acquired taste...)
5. Playing COD UO on-line with my son
5. Being away from work
5. Friday @ 5:00

Is that one of the "Chinatown" things?

He's my brother! (slap) He's my nephew! He's my brother and my nephew!

Now we need to find other furniture makers to set up a co-op shop in the "antiques district!"

Well, since I made a comment before I posted my list (and everybody but me has been pretty good about not doing that), I'd better get busy:

1) Having people in my life who love me unconditionally
2) Having dogs who serve as my Zen Masters
3) Having projects to work on
4) Laughing about something every day
5) Combining any of the above

Five things that make me happy?

Well, in no particular order...

Another new poster, welcome Joe!

Seeing Justine's posting concept here. What a GREAT idea!

My family, my faith, my health, and my three parrots; Hans. Bandit, and "Groundparrot" Gilligan, as well as the other numerous squirrels and birdies around the house.

A good musical instrument, and folks raising their voices in song.

And all my friends and neighbors, new and old- and especially all of you great folks on the 'Deck today!

I did laugh at your humor Dl! Thank the Lord for the comedians on these posts! We all need a good laugh every day!

Don't forget to write a new list every day, even if it is at your desk. It will keep your mood light and attract good things. Today I was most grateful for a cup of strong black coffee (three really) after going to bed too late!
