Lakewood Is My Home
This is called a "teaser".
Karen and myself wrote a song, called "Lakewood Is My Home". We'll have it produced and ready to roll early next week. We have the "composer's" version on a tape, since when we write, we just grab anything that records.
We used the nearest keyboard that was plugged in, and Karen sang without a mike, just so we could remember what we wrote. I'll score it up, and we'll do a full production on it, but we had to have a fast tape with the basic lyrics and music to send in for copyright.
We're anxious to have you all hear it. It's something that might be radio-able, vs something that would only fit at football games, though it would work anywhere.
First rush I've had writing songs in a little while, since it's not easy to write a song that is not "corney" about a city.

Umm, sorry Mark,
But yours will not be the first Lakewood "home" song.
Way back in 1989, I did this one for our centennial:
Lakewood, Ohio is our Home
copyright 1989 Gary R.Rice
all rights reserved
Golden diamonds on the lake, caught by the morning sun.
Underground caves, on the cliff, where Freedom's song was sung.
By the clear cool valley, Rocky River's silver foam.
LAKEWOOD, OHIO is our home!
Kirtland Warblers, Templar cars, and Polo fields in June.
A hundred ways to worship God, or sing your favorite tune.
We will sing this song, wherever we may roam.
LAKEWOOD, OHIO, is our home!
Refrain
Come with us, to our home town!
It's LAKEWOOD, OHIO! Well, come on down!
Join with us with our song and cheer.
As we begin another hundred years!
3
We began our story back in 1889.
One hundred years together, and we're really doin' fine!
On Detroit's old plank road, on a Strawberry Roan,
Lakewood, Ohio, is our home!
Still, as I'm sure you know, the last time I checked, you couldn't copyright a title, and yours is different anyway.
You and Karen have awesome talents! I can't wait to hear your Lakewood song!
Great minds, similar channels, I guess :-)

Finally we're doing what we love to do best. Yes, I'll arrange a version so it can be open to some additional participants, and it already is built to be "videoble". Crowd in backround, cuts to different scenes and people in the city..all that good stuff.
In fact, if you or anyone else wants to help on this project, let me know.

That's ok that it is not the first. It's just a song that came to me, the chord changes and theme, some lyrics, and since we do all our material to be "saleable" to someone, even if they're only in Antarctica, it's just a "thing' for the fun of it.

Nope, I just put down some chord changes that seemed to come to me. There isn't a progression of any type, really.
