If You Are Arguing Which School To Close Or Save... You Lost Already

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

One of the many things that always seem to happen in these school discussions online on those neighborhood sites is an argument over which school to save or close. If that is your thought on all of this, they have beat you already, and they will do whatever they want.

The discussion should always be on management, not decisions, management is trying to trick you into thinking you make a difference. See, in any committee that goes longer than a couple weeks, and has a rate of 50% of the "important people" missing the meetings it is easy for the BOE and schools to say, "No you made the decision not us." A fools game you play.

There is one question, Who drove the $250 million dollar bus, with a nearly $70 million dollar annual budget into the creek?

At every turn, the BOE got exactly what they wanted and campaigned on. Levies, Bond Issues, astro turf, Cleveland Clinic in schools, serving alcohol at school events, pushing gambling to support sports, even closing the local hospital and selling millions in property for dollars and the magic beans of TIF.

NOW, suddenly it was all wrong, and they ask the residents to come in and help fix it.

Really, and you are going to believe them again?

The residents are going to take the fall for overbuilding and over spending of the schools?

The residents are being blamed for not breeding fast enough, or large enough families.

This is not on the residents, never has been. They voted for every expenditure, they support the schools.

Even when they played you, getting rid of music and extra curricular activities? In another one of their "committees" YOU CHOOSE THIS OR THAT.

The answer is much simpler than the problem.

Get new sober drivers for the school bus. Hope to keep it out of the creek, reevaluate with PROFESSIONALS, and OVERSIGHT.

Stop pitting yourself against other residents. FIX THE SYSTEM and you FIX THE PROBLEMS.

It reminds me of the the fool on the street trying to win 3 card monte. HAHAHA

Stop being played as Rubes, and stop thinking they care what you think.

Elect and hire management that actual has a modicum of expertise in running schools.

Please
