Shortly before 11am, a good size group of residents, veterans, and city officials gathered for a ceremony at Lakewood Park.

The Wild Pitch Quartet got things going.

Grade school kids in the crowd came forward to say the "Pledge of Allegiance."

Mayor George addresses the gathering.

A special presentation to Brendan Dorsey of the 87th Pipe Band for his decades of service.

Trumpeter/Bugler Matt Wirfel also was commended for his service.

Major Christopher Zurawski, US Army Special Forces, gave the keynote address.

LHS Marching Band played a short musical interlude.

Matt Wirfel plays taps, followed by Brendan Dorsey piping us out to "Amazing Grace."

Then everyone went to Lakewood Woman's Pavilion for coffee, milk, donuts, and conversation.
