Jayden Fleming in front of his classmates, after being brought to school in a Lakewood Fire Truck!

Jayden won this honor by writing a wonderful essay for Fire Prevention Week. His essay was chosen over all of the other 5th graders in Lakewood Schools. Quite an honor!
He read it to over 200 dignitaries that had assembled for Lakewood Firefighter Commendation Day, and Fire Prevention Week.
The payoff, a ride around Lakewood in the front seat of the fire truck, and a ride to school.
Here are a couple photos from the ride, more on Jayden to follow.

8:30am Fire Marshal Fairbanks walks Jayden and his family to the truck.

Jayden climbs in.

A very proud mom and dad get photos.

Then climb in the back.

Off they go for a drive around Lakewood. Meanwhile...

Horace Mann 5th graders assemble to welcome him in.

To cheers and chants of "Jayden, Jayden, Jayden" they arrive.

Jayden jumps out, as the girls look on. Girls love firefighters!

As Jayden takes it all in, the guys are cheering too. Heck everyone loves firefighters.

A quick lap to thank everyone for coming out.

You can tell it is overwhelming.

Ahhhh finally, family!

First a photo for the Fire Department.

Now one for the family album.

Then back to his fellow 5th graders at Horace Mann.

And like all true heroes and good people, he shares the spotlight with others.
As always thank you to Lakewood Fire Department for doing so much more, than helping us when we need it most.
