Re: Lakewood Park Parking Lot Expansion
Nothing like the Socialist City of Lakewood administration and council charging taxpayers of Lakewood providing non-city residents from Cleveland additional parking to use to enjoy the swimming pool while the city streets surfaces are an embarrassment, 100s of million dollars are need to replace the sewer infrastructure and all the water lead service lines to residents. Why are there vehicle charging stations in the park, it will cost tens of thousand of dollars for these stations with the underground electric lines. I forgot, the council and mayor propaganda photograph proudly announcing all green. What was missing is the dedicated power lines from Niagara Hydroelectric Power Station to power all the city facilities, street lights, traffic lights, charging stations, etc. When in reality, its coal, natural gas, and/or nuclear power plants that are proving the electricity the city is using.
This city needs charter changes, eliminating the large council members, two representatives from four wards, abolish the backroom Council of the Whole meetings, require all City Council business be conducted in the council room. The residents paid for the aloft power trip council seating and counter, then they can see their representative looking down on them more often.

Richard Baker has clearly not tried to park at Lakewood Park during peak hours. When I was living in Lakewood, this was a major issue to me as a Lakewood resident when I needed to attend meetings there or do anything else in the park. This has been a long-ignored priority.Richard Baker wrote:Nothing like the Socialist City of Lakewood administration and council charging taxpayers of Lakewood providing non-city residents from Cleveland additional parking to use to enjoy the swimming pool while the city streets surfaces are an embarrassment, 100s of million dollars are need to replace the sewer infrastructure and all the water lead service lines to residents.

Fom a message and a thread here dating back to 2014...

Other cities do not seem to have a trouble with it. Adds to property value.

Re: Lakewood Park Parking Lot Expansion
There is not enough parking at Lakewood park to accommodate all of the vistors.
When the new pool opens there will be even less available parking.
In this case more parking spaces means more people which means a need for even more parking.
Enough is more than enough.
If the goal is a parking spot for everyone why not pave the whole park? The park would look like the entrance to Cedar Point but at least everyone would have a place to park.

When Lakewood Park becomes overrun with out of town swimmers when the pool opens, and chases out the Lakewood residents, lets not forget a fantastic alternative, the Emerald Necklace park system. You can always frolic in Rocky River's shallow waters knowing that the City Council is spending your taxes on a global public swimming pool.
