David,
Thanks but as I told the committee, it is not Jim O'Bryan, it is the residents of Lakewood, along with the start up group, Deb O'Bryan, DL Meckes, Heidi Hilty, Stephen Davis, Dan Ott, Bill and Jan Davis, Dan Slife, Kenneth Warren, Jeff Endress, Mike Deneen, Lynn and Don Farris, Nadhal Edeh, Steve Ott, Stan Austin, Mayor Tom George, all of the advertisers, writers, photographers, lawyers, and readers. Also a big thank you to Editors over the years, Heidi Hilty, Dan Slife, Margaret Brinich and Betsy Voinovich.
It is nice to know we have been recognized as one that started our form of journalism, and the seed that started other projects like "Patch" and "Neighborhood."
It has been a wild ride, but what is next is even better!
It is also of note that Mary Kay Cabot is also from Lakewood, graduated Lakewood High School Class of 1980.
So two from Lakewood in the Hall of Fame, nice job Lakewood!
Thank you Lakewood.

I was unaware of all of this, and not a huge fan of it. I argued with them to change it to the Lakewood Observer, No dice.
In the voting it was mentioned "unparalleled reporting on the closing of Lakewood Hospital..."
That made me smile. Most people in this city still do not understand what happened.

Jim,
You and everything you have done for Lakewood including your leadership of the Lakewood Observer and the other Observer newspapers speaks volumes for your character, creativity, initiative and vision.
Congratulations!
You are justly honored.
I was lucky enough to begin to have coffee with you way back in 2013...

Jim, you are the one who makes it happen for Lakewood. Very deserving.

Jim,
So very well deserved my friend. Indeed as you said, we all might share in your accomplishment, but YOU are the one who brought us together.
Yay for YOU!
