Groundbreaking for Lincoln School.
Lakewood residents have made a long standing investment into Lakewood Schools. Back in the 80s the city went through a dry spell on levies, constantly voting no. A group of residents proved to residents that good schools add heavily to the value of homes in that city, the levies and bond issues have passed ever since.
With that said , we have good news and news…
The State of Ohio has released their state report cards and their performance index rankings which are based on the information on the report cards.
If you look at the key in the rankings you can see that the scores are made up of an average of overall performance and then other measures that look at progress from year \to year, another one called closing the gap and graduation rates.
Lakewood Schools rank 177 on the performance index rating, and 182 on the state report cards, putting it in the top third of the state, getting the highest marks in gap closing and high marks in progress and achievement, a lower ranking in graduation rates.
As far as comparisons go, Lakewood schools are even with North Olmsted schools, both with 182 rankings.
Rocky River comes in at number 13, with the same ranking as Beachwood, Avon and Hudson. Fairview Park and Westlake come in at 56.
Parma and Berea come in at 405, Cleveland Hts/University Hts at 503, Cleveland at 534.
Lakewood Schools rank 177 on the performance index rating. This puts it in the 91.2 percentile, up from 88.4 last year.
