For the past week or so, there has been as many as three Snowy Owls spotted down at Edgewater/Wendy Park. On the docks mostly in the Yacht Club, and break wall. But one has been a fixture on a lamp pole along the north access road to Wendy Park.

There were so many people that police have been directing traffic at times. Metro Parks has asked bird watchers to park in the lot and walk over. Which makes sense as it is a short walk from both lots. Also BE CAREFUL, people driving are mostly looking the the owl too. Birds of prey are also creatures of habit working the same grounds.
This will be the closest and easiest to see a snow owl and they will be around for awhile. GET OFF YOUR ASS, and go for a walk and have some fun.
If you want to see a bald eagle, most days you can just look up over Lakewood, way, way up there. But lately as they rebuild nests and get ready for mating season they have been seen in trees along the lake shore. Today Lakewoodite and noted photographer Mary Breiner took this photo on her walk.

And this one was shot about a mile west of today's eagle.

So everyone if you like nature, if you like birds, if you like walking, if you like photography, if you like doing something outside with the family that is safe.
GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND GO WALKING!
Here are some more from Edgewater Park.

Thanks and a tip of the hat to Lakewood's foremost birder Deb Sweeney for a little help from a friend.
Now get off the net and go see one LIVE!
