Zona Jackson, STNA and Nursing Assistant is getting the vaccine for her family and safety of the residents.

O’Neill Healthcare Lakewood is honored to be among the first in Ohio to offer the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to the staff and residents. On December 23rd, on-site vaccination started at O’Neill Healthcare Lakewood, with everyone receiving the first of two shots. All five of O’Neill Healthcare facilities will have the first shot before the end of the year.

Kim Chuma, LNHA, shares why she’s getting the vaccine.

As we move into the new year, we look forward to a brighter future where we can all be together again. Thank you to the Walgreens team for administering the shot and helping us create a safe environment for our staff and residents so we can continue to care for our residents safely.

I think you have to been in there, and though it is nice, I hope you are not.

We are supposed to be in the next group, probably around Mid-January, and probably at CVS, Walgreens, Drug Mart, etc.

I for one cannot wait.

I'm curious as to how it's determined, which vaccine gets distributed to various locations.

I've read, that there are more people having reactions to Pfizer's, whereas only 1 person has had a reaction to Moderna's. Fortunately, that person had an epi-pen which he used on himself, and then his coworkers got him to an ER. He admitted to having many allergies.

There are a lot of us, who have allergies, and it'd be a real shame to get vaccinated against covid-19, only to get anaphylaxis.

(When it's my turn I definitely want the vaccine, but as of now, I'd prefer to have Moderna. It's important to have a safeguard in place  )

The good news, pretty soon you will be able to choose which one you want from 4 or 5.

The bad news, probably not till summer.

The way I am understand it, because States and Cities are broke, and have no plans, the Federal Government will depend on a system already in place.

Just like the Flu and Shingles.
