Comet Neowise

Post by Alex Belisle »

Since once it leaves us, it won't be back for about 7000 years, I decided I should try and catch it here in Lakewood over Lake Erie. These photos were taken Mon. July 13 at around 10:30 p.m. looking out NNW on the horizon using long exposures.

Well they said the 21st was the last good night, but like most nights it was cloudy in and around the Northcoast. This was from last night...

It is faint, and in the middle of the image 3/4 down.

I was hoping to get the best image I could from an iphone, but it had grown too faint.

These were from the 18th, when it was brighter, taken at the end of Wilbert in Lakewood.

That is the weather station on the fence.

When I enlarged the image. There are some artifacts in the image I find fascinating. Bright pixels in the tale?
I have no idea if this is a function of the medium or something else.

During the day.

Well let's meet and do that again in 7,000 years.
