Well here we are coming up to our anniversary once again. Time flies.
This issue continues with some great coverage of people, places and things in and around Lakewood while also taking a deeper look into everything from racial inequality to Lakewood's Victory Gardens!
An amazing piece, "One Lakewood Progress: Riots Are The Cries Of The Unheard," written by Laura Rodriguez-Carbone. A person that has emerged over the past couple years to show and share her depth of knowledge and street smarts. She addresses a problem she has known since birth. Lakewood Garden Center's next installment of Lakewood Victory Gardens, a project started by the LO and Paul at Lakewood Garden Center and Lakewood Hardware. During the time of COVID-19 Food Security is a must and just one of many reasons the LO started LEAF over a decade ago. Restaurants have started up again and so have the reviews.
Thank you to all. Especially the staff, the volunteers, the advertisers and businesses that help us get our papers out. Huge tip of the hat to Giant Eagle, Aldi's, Roman Fountain Pizza, Nunzio's,
MTO, and others that have made sure our papers get out and into the hands of Lakewoodites everywhere. While the closings had shut down or limited our accessibility, with the openings we are planing to once again be in over 200 locations in Lakewood.
It has truly been an honor and a pleasure running this project and helping all Lakewoodites get their stories, ideas, photos, and events into the paper, online and available in 10,000+ copies, and of course online, where we have a huge library of not just the papers, but hundreds of thousands of images and stories from the past 100+ years in Lakewood.
