Sheetrock has a 1-hour rating, the building was under construction and open, with plenty of oxygen and fuel. Once it started, it was like a campfire wood stacked up. Ninety-nine percent of the homes in Lakewood are wood construction, the brick is a veneer and does nothing to stop a fire inside the building. The chances of you being alive are slim; smoke inhalation will kill you first. Such as a smoldering fire from faulty an extension cord on the carpet or a sofa. Check your batteries in your home or apartment smoke detectors and make sure they are the photoelectric type that will react to slow smoldering fire.
