Right now we are watching a spending spree by outside donors and outside groups funding the media barrage for Sam O'Leary. Hundreds of thousands of accountable and nebulous (from sources that will not appear on O'Leary's campaign accounting like the flyer from Akron/Cleveland Realtors) campaign gifts. Watching groups, developers and businesses donate $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 or more to get Sam elected.
So here is the simple question...
Does one think, if Meghan George gets elected they will walk away from Lakewood? Well they will not, I have spoken with developers and realtors. While they want and have donated to Sam, they are not leaving Lakewood. So this actually puts Lakewood, and the new Mayor in a better position to get the most for the community out of these deals.
Ohhhhhh
And one candidate will do it in secret, lie and cover up the facts, the amounts and the deals. The other will do it exactly as she has on Council, on various boards and in real life, out in the open, explaining all parts, and actually bringing the city along.
OK another question...
This election is so clear cut for Lakewood voters. Elected officials, should elected officials work for themselves and friends, or the community?

Last I checked the percentage of early voters was in the mid 30s. Many campaigns don't appreciate this.Jim O'Bryan wrote:Right now we are watching a spending spree....

Actually I think the debrief on this election will be amazing.
People are really getting sick of it, the never ending onslaught.
Sam and his sponsors are spending more of this election then ever before.
Of course, many made a ton of $$$$$$$ on the Hospital Debacle.
Kind of wild seeing someone that will do anything to be Mayor.
