Why The Rubble On Detroit Matters

Post by Mark Kindt »

The Election This Fall Matters I

Why? Because we can each see major issues confronting Lakewood and the future direction of our community depends on those holding office and those running for office.

Let's start with just one outcome and how it has played-out.

Has the "New Model of Healthcare" helped or hurt us? Are we really on the way to being "The Healthiest City in America?

This is my comparison. You are each free to create your own.

Hmmm--- this seems to be contrary to the Finance Director's predictions of several years ago.

While Lakewood axed healthcare employment and dismantled the healthcare safety-net, Northeast Ohio reports strong growth in healthcare employment.

In today's Crain's, Team NEO's vice president of strategy and research, Jacob Duritsky states "Health care has seen robust growth since the 2007 recession."

The next topic that I would like to explore is the relationship between, the city administration, its planning function, and Team NEO excutives. Is there another third-party non-profit involved in governing our fair city?
