Lakewood Schools Show Continued Improvement

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Today on Cleveland.com they have the school ratings for the year. And while many will point to the schools around us, Rocky River at #2, Bay Village at #10 we really need to look at which direction the Lakewood Schools are going, and there we find great news, continued improvement.

When you look at these numbers and report cards there is so much to take into account, from family support, to $$$$ the community has for schools, to yes teaching, and even sports. Lakewood has an uphill battle with many of the children that come to Lakewood.

However, look realistically at what the schools have been through over the past ten years. Massive rebuilding, 3 changes of Superintendents, including Michael Barnes, a first year superintendent, doing an amazing job. The system is continuously improving, that is a good sign, and also shows that the future is only better for the much loved and heavily funded Lakewood School System.

To everyone of the administrators, teachers, and people working in the schools, thank you.
