Lakewood In Running For Sherwin-Williams Corporate Office?

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

It seems Sherwin Williams is moving their headquarters out of Downtown Cleveland. They are looking at other areas of the county, and cities in Northern Ohio for their international corporate home.

No! Not coming here because the Mayor and City Council gave 7 prime acres in downtown Lakewood, perfect for what they are looking for, to ex-Mayor Ed FitzGerald for $1.00 for a new multi-use strip mall.

Lakewood City Hall, Elected officials, small thinkers. Or as I have said since 2010, over achieving under achievers.

Vote for change, smart, honest, transparent, accountable candidates.

I've long been of the mind that the second-best use of that land would be for a major employer. They let Metro slide, now probably Sherwin-Williams. Maybe they'll send a letter after a decision has been made to ask if they are interested, like they did for Metro.

I'm no lawyer but I'm thinking that an offer of $1.01 could buy that developer out of a twisted contract and make available the site for Sherwin Williams or Metro

Rumor on the street the price is closer to $7 million.

Funny how property goes up in value in Lakewood.
