And should government even be involved?
I've used the term without really thinking about it much. In the old days it was a little easier to define. The ports weren't there. The bridge over the river wasn't there. The airport wasn't there and all that land just out of town was farm land or forest and 20,000 people a year were pouring into town.
What is economic development in a region with a stable population? Is it just investing millions to move people from one side of town to the other?
If government plays a role what role should it be?
Why would a regional approach be better? What is meant by regional approach? As far as I can determine regional approach means put it downtown or build it in the exurbs.
Why is regionalization so important to the Plain Dealer and County government? Why is it so important to Mayor Summers and Sam O'Leary?
Does regionalization mean that the same people who run the County jail will now run all the communities in Cuyahoga County?
Just What is economic development?

Cleveland led regionalism is a plan to greatly increase the value of real estate in counties adjacent to cuyahoga county.

Interesting...and at whose expense? Cuyahoga County residents no doubt. I cannot imagine it would be good in any way for Lakewood's residents, esp. if we are talking about real estate prices.ryan costa wrote:Cleveland led regionalism is a plan to greatly increase the value of real estate in counties adjacent to cuyahoga county.
I will admit I don't know much about regionalism but I believe that if a city is doing well enough on it's own, like Lakewood, there would be few reasons to regionalize.
East Cleveland, on the other hand, is a different story. They would probably greatly benefit from regionalization.
