More Behind the Scenes Dealing Lying O’Leary
Typical actions by Lakewood “leaders,” plan things behind closed doors. When discovered, accuse others of lying to deflect from THEIR lying.
Sound familiar? Same MO as the hospital debacle.
This has got to stop. Vote out those lying politicians like Sam O’Leary.

Re: More Behind the Scenes Dealing Lying O’Leary
I see Sam O'Leary crying foul, fear mongering is bad. Of course fear mongering is just what Sam did in getting reelected and in getting the hospital closed. Fer mongering, lies, intimidation all part and parcel to the ways he has learned.Bridget Conant wrote:Typical actions by Lakewood “leaders,” plan things behind closed doors. But the real question is, "What else did Sam O'Leary promise the FOP in order to get their support?"
You wanted to build it next to the dog park. Come on Sam, tell the city your another part of your great plan in the regionalization of police and fire. Well not really your plan, it was first conceived by Ed FitzGerald, and worked on in secret by Mayor Summers, Sam O'Leary and others.
Come on Sam stop the bullshit, it is getting old. Last night I got a call and the person that was a City Hall supporter said, "They can't stop lying, it is insane."

Re: More Behind the Scenes Dealing Lying O’Leary
I am a big fan of Laura and the transparency she is promoting. Lord knows, we aren't going to get any of that with the current occupants, they are too far gone.
I hadn't heard of this issue but it got me wondering, how much more of Lakewood's health care infrastructure can the current administration destroy?
Also, "local dispatch is too costly"? Hmmm...not so if you think about all the taxpayer money that was pissed away to consultants over the past 5 years!
Pathetic!
Lying O'leary's days are numbered!

Summers is vehemently denying any plans to outsource dispatch.
Just like he vehemently denied that the hospital was closing.....right up until he held the "hospital closure" press conference.

In the interest of fair play, here's what Sam posted elsewhere:
"Looks like political silly season is getting started early this year. I'd like to clarify my position on this, because public safety and truth telling are both very important.
"What I told the FOP, and what I've told voters when I'm knocking on doors every night, is that if the State of Ohio or the county were to force regionalization of emergency dispatch, I want Lakewood's dispatch center to be the area leader that other west side communities could turn to for their services.
"I believe that our dispatch is the best on the west side, and that we would be well positioned to provide that service to neighboring communities, while continuing to provide the same caliber of service Lakewood residents know and trust. Our city shouldn't stick its head in the sand, and we shouldn't run away from tough issues. Instead, we need leadership that has the experience to understand these issues, and the courage to address them head-on."
Yes, the discussion of this is just "silly." Lakewood would get to keep its dispatch center. He currently supports it.
Also it's early in the political season for Sam. Maybe that's why we haven't heard much from him while others have been campaigning all out for several months.
Please stop laughing.

Sam has an account here, you do not need to post for him. Of course the choice is yours.
He stays away, because he cannot control the questions or the past statements.
Over 4 years ago we spoke about Ed FitzGerald wanting to regionalize 911. We have comments from many elected officials and city workers.
They stay away, because they are full of BS.

I only post it for the sake of those who will not see it and might want either a chuckle or to comment. I don't do it for Sam.Jim O'Bryan wrote:DanDan Alaimo wrote:In the interest of fair play, here's what Sam posted elsewhere:

Things would go much better for the guy if he would come clean and blow the whistle, but, nah, won't happen.

On this particular issue, I think Sam O'Leary's flip-flop on the hospital issue is relevant. He was for the hospital until he won his last election. To quote Billy Joel, "it's a matter of trust."

A phone call today brought home the realization that this post has been misinterpreted.Dan Alaimo wrote:In the interest of fair play, here's what Sam posted elsewhere:

When I said it was "fair play," I was being facetious. I came to mock Sam O'Leary, not praise him, and by simply repeating his words verbatim. (Sorry, Gary.)
From his characterization of the issue as "silly," to his support of Lakewood's dispatch center, i thought anyone who slogged through the hospital debacle and caught his world-class flip-flop then would find this hilarious. When I said "please stop laughing," I meant partially it in jest as I expected the Deck to be in an uproar reading this.
Again I learn that subtlety is very difficult to convey in the online environment.
My true opinions are represented in a post further down this thread: "On this particular issue, I think Sam O'Leary's flip-flop on the hospital issue is relevant. He was for the hospital until he won his last election. To quote Billy Joel, "it's a matter of trust."" And by that I mean that Sam O'Leary can't be trusted.
Other people have cited his youth and he might change in time. Great, I'll be glad to see it, but no way am I voting for him this year.
A brief addendum: his experience on Council has been cited often. Yes, he has been Council President, but his main job was to represent Ward 2. From my vantage point in Ward 2, he's done squat for us.
