UPDATED - "Police With Automatic Weapons Surround Drug Mart..."

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

... was the way the first phone call that came into hotline. Followed by two calls for "police all over Quaker Steak Strip Mall."

So I wandered over from the cool of Lakewood Public Library...

From the Call Logs...
2019-209-0780. 7/28/2019. 16:30. ROBBERY. 15322 DETROIT AVE2. P225 01 07/28/2019 19:14:07

UPDATE: Around 4:05pm 5 masked gunman entered the Verizon Store at 15322 Detroit Road. The female store manager ran out the front door and called police. Police came and surrounded the entire complex. Police also brought in a sharpshooter. And two officers with assault rifles. After 45 min. the police entered the store found that they have emptied the safes of between 40 and 80 phones.

According to people in the phone industry this is an ever growing problem.

Police were everywhere, but not at Drug Mart. No it seemed that maybe an alarm might have been set off at the Verizon store.

In the back of the Verizon store were 5 more police, all with weapons out, one with a tactical scope and fire power.

Then in an instant, they entered the store, while more police waited outside.

Minutes later they emerged, packed up their gear and left.

Pretty wild watching how fast and how well Lakewood Police work together.

One of the stories circulating was 5 men in ski masks robbed the store.

More to follow.

Good work Lakewood Police!
