Little Library, Oooops, St. Joe's Cupboard! Now Open

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Across the country we have seen the explosion of the Little Library movement. With hundreds if not thousands of Little Libraries popping up. People sharing books with a leave one take one, or a leave one or more, or take one concept it is taking reading, and the fun of reading to people that otherwise have problems getting to libraries or could not afford books. I also this teaches a lot of people the value of real libraries and what they offer.

Well in front of St Edward's School suddenly appeared a second Little Library, but on close inspection we found out it was a "St. Joesph's Cupboard." The sign said "St. Loseph's Cupboard" and that is fine by me. A good idea, that time has come.

Who knows the impact when a person down on their luck walks by and sees that some people, cared enough to leave something behind.

It gets rid of the formality of needing to plan anything. Simply buy an extra can of something, and drop it off on your way home.

It will feel good.

Wow---now that concept really intrigues me. Books are good but you gotta eat first.

Very cool idea. I wonder if more of these will pop up. Books feed your head, but like Stan says, "you gotta eat first."

Borrowing from (and slightly altering) Stephen Davis' recent thread title ....

... THIS is Lakewood!
"So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we're together we might as well say:
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?"
