Team Neo And Amazon Secret Plan!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Jay Foran (Team NeO), aka Mr. Big Boy Pants seems to really like secrets.

Blowing up on Social Media

From the recent Cleveland Scene Article...
People are Mad about Cleveland's $3.5 Billion Amazon HQ2 Bid for the Wrong Reasons

"The content of the proposal will remain a protected business trade secret,” a statement from the economic development organization Team NEO read in January, 2018. “[It] will be deployed to benefit Cleveland [sic] in other nationally competitive economic development discussions.”

That should give us all pause, because these incentives are bonkers.

So you want public action and funds by ZERO accountability? Ohhhhhhhh Lakewood style.

Well, there was Cleveland/Cuyahoga County whoring itself out yet again.

They just can’t think of any other strategy than to hand it all over to a developer - why, if they had kids, they’d be pimping them out, too.

Never seen such a bunch of pinheads.

Our Constitution has the Commerce Clause. It would be simpler if our leaders made it so that no company that operates in multiple states or nations can get state or local tax abatements or tax credits.

Are you suggesting that state and local governmental bodies are so inept, inert and corrupt they require congress to pas a law prevent large interstate companies or with foreign office for trade from issuing local and state tax abatement? It wouldn't pass the constitutional strip test and assigning the fox to watch the hen house is a bad idea. Removing rebates in not going to make Cuyahoga county any more attractive to business.

if no county can issue abatements and rebates, this does not make Cuyahoga county more or less attractive.

I am more fascinated with making a career out of spending hard working tax payers money on buying friends.

I guess stick to what you are good at...
