Lakewood Fire Department out on the ice, measuring the thickness for the National Weather Service, for their records and understanding of possible flooding. And, to keep all of us safe.

Firefighter Doug Brodie 9 shifts left still out with the young guys.

They also use this time to train the newbies in ice rescue, jumping in a frozen river, getting out, etc.
