Clear Walks, Be Safe, Check On Elderly, Help Neighbors

It is beautiful to look at!


Even fun and exciting to watch it come down. Then...


It has to be cleaned up, and together we make Lakewood safe and walkable.


Good work Lakewood Police, Fire and City Streets!

First a visit back to the man who gave "One Shovel Wide" it start Gary Rice...




Put on some coffee, grab some neighbors, and clear the walks.

Take you time, relax, do not over-exert, do not life more than you can lift 100 times. Take breaks, and enjoy the time with your neighbors.



Check on and help elderly in the neighborhood. Also a great time to check on pets, and make sure they are safe and fed.

Soon enough it will be back to...

Detroit Ave. around 5pm.


City crews worked all night and most of the day cleaning up. Be careful give the plows room. This is one reason it is so important to clear walks. Lakewood is filled with both tight narrow streets and streets 35mph. Both become dangerous to walk in when it is snowy, slippery, and dark.


Obey laws on snow streets. The faster they can clear the main streets the faster then can do the side streets.

IMPORTANT NOTE HERE!:

It is well worth noting that in the "One Shovel Wide" video, that TWO out of the three people who made that video have ALREADY slipped and fallen this year! One was me and the other was Rick, who needed serious medical attention for his fall. Rick is currently on the mend at home after surgery, so please keep him in your prayers and please, PLEASE keep clearing that snow for all of us!

Just got off the phone with Rick too. He's doing fairly well today, and he's very well pleased to hear that our video is still being used as a reminder to clean up those walks, at least one shovel wide!
