Despite much protest, the Cleveland Clinic last year closed the only birthing facility in Medina County, forcing women to travel to other counties to have their babies.
Thanks to efforts by the Medina mayor, who obviously has more concern for his residents than Lakewood’s mayor, Metro is poised to open a facility in Medina County to serve the areas mothers-to-be.
Bravo to the Medina mayor and to Metro, who would have been a great fit in Lakewood had our mayor not prevented them from coming in.

Strange isn't it? All across Northeast Ohio Mayors and City Councils are fighting for health care options for their citizens. Here in Lakewood our Mayor and Council are fighting to limit those options.
