Mr. Alaimo,
Would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of the public comments made by Mr. O'Malley that addressed Mr. Call's questions and support your assertion.
Thank you.

Talk to him. That's what I did.

I think that the record is clear that Messers. Call, Buckley, Alaimo & O’Malley are all in agreement that Mr. O’Malley has made no such public comments. If he had made such statements, he would likely be accosted and harassed by public officials who would use the power of their public offices to suppress and silence those statements and who would violate public records laws to cover up that they had done so using the law director attorney-client privilege assertions and redactions along the way.

And that is one thing that Mr. O’Malley is clearly not missing.

And that is one reason that Lakewood cannot heal from the deep wounds inflicted by the current regime.

The irony is that if the regime continues to impose a price for public officials (and others) speaking the whole truth and nothing but the truth, the “cancerous thoughts” expressed in the pages of the Deck can never be “cured” by what Mr. Buckley coined as Lakewood’s “thought oncologists”.

It seems to me that pioneering “truth- telling oncologists” in elected positions are in the best position to exterminate the real cancer within Lakewood. And the chemotherapy (sunshine) is simply telling the whole truth about what’s happening no matter how ugly and politically incorrect it might at first blush appear.

If I RECALL correctly, Lakewood citizens also can remedy the cancer, although it would be a messy operation.

Mr. Essi,
I want to start this post by being very clear about the amount of respect I have for you and your willingness to speak truth to power no matter the consequences.
I'll end this post by quoting Dan O'Malley... " Go figure."

Thanks.

I probably should talk to members of Council more but I probably won't.

A few years ago I talked to two members of the LHA Board who said that the deal negotiated by the LHA and City was "a bad deal". They would not go public with their opinions. What good is that?

Bill

I completely understand your frustrations. I gave up on talking with Mayor Summers. I spoke with him between September 24, and December 15th about LAKEWOOD HOSPITAL CLOSING. A term that was in the LOI many times. I read directly from the LOI. When I finally released the story, he came out held a press conference and said "Lakewood Hospital is not closing." I had 5 professional go over the LOI and we printed our numbers in the LO. Mayor Summers came out and said the numbers in the Lakewood Observer are wrong. Yet another lie. He said there would be $120 million in development and funds coming back into the city. When he had been warned repeatedly that was a lie do not say it or use it.

On the flip side, Ken Haber spoke with me at length, and I have not heard him lie once. I enjoy speaking with Ken, he offers candor and truth which I do not always agree with. One of the first things I asked Ken during the hospital debacle was, "Is there any money coming back to Lakewood that did not start out as our money?" His answer was simply, "No, it all started out as our money." Which underlined just how bad this deal was, and just how dishonest the Mayor and other members of council and the Administration are.

Why waste time being lied to? It is pointless. At the same time the city is filled with people that know the truth but will not open their mouths or step forward. I understand the fear from being intimidated, but they should all realize, especially the members of council and city hall, this makes them complicit in one of the largest losses if not out right thefts of Lakewood Public assets ever.

Public service seems pretty easy to me, Be honest, be transparent, and be accountable. Plain and simple. We all have different views, likes, wants and needs. But if you chose public service Be honest, be transparent, and be accountable, and it is hard to find anything wrong with their service.

Lakewood City Hall, and Lakewood Board of Education has lost their way, have fallen off the high road, and now are dragging the city down with them.

I'd like to check the order of succession in Lakewood. As of the last time there was a question of who is next in line earlier this decade, the order was:
Director of Law
Director of Finance
Director of Public Works
City Council President
Then someone chosen bv council.

Has this changed?
And why are elected officials so far down the list?
