“The heart of an Irishman is nothing but his imagination.” George Bernard Shaw

Once again a huge thank you to everyone that took the time to put their time and energy into this never ending act of love and sharing. Together for over 15 years members of the Lakewood Observer have been making a positive difference in our community.

Thank you to all of our advertisers, new and old, that understand a great way to give back to the community is helping them get their voices heard. If you agree with them or not, together we build both a history, and more importantly a running dialogue of the community we love, and call home. When we lift the load together, each doing whatever we can, we make it easier to not just deliver the load, but to maintain the decade plus narrative of the best community in Cuyahoga County. As out new shirts read, "FREE SPEECH AND INTELLECTUAL DIVERSITY, We are only as strong as our weakest link." The gold standard in community participation, conversation and dialogue.

Thanks to all the writers, advertisers, editors, and photographers that made it happen.

However, I am concerned about the continued placement of stories that support racist Tom Bullock.
Why does the Observer continue to prop up this corrupt, lazy, disingenuous excuse for a human being?

Mike

If I had a dollar for everyone that said that to me today, we could run the paper without ads. I am not kidding, I am betting that 85% of the people who have supported and worked on the paper in the last 10 years I spoke to today said nearly the same thing.

Also in the mix was, "Who is Marcy Kaptur? She doesn't represent us!" I am not talking 5, or 10 people I am talking 30+ people threatening all sorts of stuff.

At the end of the day, it is what we do. He is an elected official, who has lied, misrepresented, worked to sell off our largest asset behind our backs, and was just found recently in violation of sunshine laws. But he is also a Lakewood resident, and an elected official. As such there is room in the paper.

This is what makes the attacks by City Hall and others so ridiculous, and prove they are just bullshitting haters. If there was an agenda, he would not be there.

Don't be a hater, write the story, help vote him out of office.

Mike you have been with this project since the earliest days, you add a ton to this paper, the Deck and the Project. Meanwhile Tom is absent, attacks from the shadows, and works his lies and political games. Running that article proves, we are not just better than they are, but underlines how weak they are.

Since 2004, the Lakewood Observer is the gold standard in this town for fairness, openness, inclusiveness, and cutting through the bullshit and games. And Tom Bullock just helped us prove it again.

Tom's article show just how ignorant the Mayor and his supporters are, bask in the glow.
